GP - Manayingkarírra Primary Health Care Centre, West Arnhem Land, NT
Mala’la Health Service is looking for a general practitioner to join the team at the Manayingkarírra Primary Health Care Centre to provide high quality primary health care services to the residents of Maningrida and the surrounding outstations. The primary health care centre transitioned to Aboriginal community control in February 2021.
Maningrida is located 500km east of Darwin on the West Arnhem Land coast; the community sits on the lands of the Kunibídji people and is one of the largest remote communities in Australia, with more than 13 Aboriginal languages spoken locally.
As an integral member of the team you will have the opportunity to work in a program-based service delivery model, working with teams to support client care in various portfolios such as: Chronic Conditions, Rheumatic Heart Disease, Healthy Under 5s, Women’s Health, Men’s Health, Children’s Health, Mental Health Programs and public health initiatives. We also provide acute and emergency care during clinic hours and a nurse-run 24 hour on-call response.
Regular allied health visits include physiotherapy, speech pathology, diabetes educator, dental, optometry, podiatry and audiology. We are one of few remote clinics that has an on-site pharmacist and we host a large number of visiting specialist services, specialist telehealth and case conferencing.
Day to day, you will provide primary medical services and will work closely with a dedicated and supportive team of nurses, Aboriginal workforce and the wider community to support improved health outcomes, incorporating holistic and culturally respectful care.
